"Light that torch, swing that hammer, and watch the magic happen." Forging is exposing metal to heat and force resulting in a creative piece. I take raw metal, melt it and pour an ingot. By swinging the hammer and striking the metal on an anvil’s face, the metal ingot begins to elongate into the shape. Adding heat (annealing process) makes the metal malleable enabling it to be compressed and stretched to form the desired shape. Jewelry items are cold forged, this means the metal is not hot when hammered. This operation is normally carried out on a hard surface such as an anvil/steel block for the initial shaping and forming, then a softer surface like wood or delrin-plastic to not mar the surface/ finish of the item. My energy is forged into a piece by heat and force making the piece come alive. Swing that hammer and make the magic happen.
